Reaching Treeline
Life is often compared to “climbing a mountain” because that is a good analogy. I am from Colorado so I may be partial to this because I love my mountains 😊haha. As a teenager, before I had health issues, I … Continue reading →

What You Never Knew
Sometimes the people who change us the most never even know they did. Lin was my neighbor, and in the quiet moments we shared across a fence, she reminded me what compassion, understanding, and real love look like.

How waiting on God strengthens faith
Reading Moses’ story reminds me of my own journey with God’s promises. I’ve faced long seasons of waiting and doubt, but God’s faithfulness keeps me pressing forward, even when the road is hard.

Whoever loses their life will save it
I was reading in Mark 8 where Jesus predicts his crucifixion. “He then began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the … Continue reading →

Every Rose has its Thorn
I’m a pretty patient person when it comes to showing patience to others, but I’m not very good at being patient with myself. I’m especially bad at being patient with my health. I’ve been ready to be healthy for many … Continue reading →

Will I turn on Him?
“Life’s unfair!” My mind, or the enemy whispered. “Look at all your disabilities and illness you’ve suffered the last 11 years.” The thoughts of despair and discouragement played off and on. “The last 24 hours you’ve been battling a severe … Continue reading →

My broken body I give to You

Longsuffering
Many of us have heard the “fruits of the Spirit” listed off: Love, joy, peace, patience… but did you know that patience is also interpreted as “long suffering”? The original Greek word used in the New Testament is “Makrothumia” and both “patience” and “longsuffering” are listed in the definition of Makrothumia. So It makes sense that both words have been used. If you think about it, isn’t longsuffering the definition of patience?! Who of us enjoys waiting? Patience indicates

Faithful
Today I read this scripture that says, “if we are faithless, he remains faithful.” (2 Tim 2:13) and it got me thinking how we often separate the words “faithful” and “faith” as if they have nothing to do with one another. But they have everything to do with each other. If you “love” someone you will be “loving.” If you have “hope” then you become “hopeful.” If we have “faith” then we will be “faithful.” If you look up the definition of faith it is ”Complete trust or confide

Lord, Please Help Us!
In the last month I feel like I’ve come across so many people who are hurting. Some people are messaging me about their family members who died recently. I have other friends who are currently watching their family members die. Others are writing me about their loved ones who were sexually molested, and they couldn’t do anything to protect them. Others are writing me about their family members who are in rehab. Some friends write to me about their abusive marriages, while oth

A Different Path
Many of us that follow Jesus, know that we’re on a different path. That’s what we signed up for. We gave away the rights to our life when we surrendered everything to the Lord. We said, “Not my will but your will be done.” Maybe we proclaimed it “from the rooftops” with zeal in our hearts. But did we mean it? Do we mean it today when it plays out differently than we think? There was a zealous man in Jesus’ day that reminds me of many of us that say “we’ll follow the Lord no

Be like Job
These last two weeks have been “difficult” to say the least. I’m writing this in my dark bedroom, while my migraine is tolerable. I know I must write before the pain becomes unbearable again, for I never know when it is coming back. In March I went to New York to see the brain surgeon. While I was out there, they discovered I had a nerve disease, “Small Fiber Neuropathy” that they treat with IVIG treatments. The brain surgeon suggested that I go through 3-6 months of this tr
