Rachel's Radical Road

Hope 2.jpg

Hi, I'm Rachel — a writer, speaker, and visually impaired artist living with chronic illness. What began as loss became purpose. Through faith, resilience, and creativity, I share the journey- and the art that grew from it.

Joy is not the absence of suffering- it is finding beauty in the middle of it. I've learned that crushed dreams and unanswered prayers often form strength, perseverance, and hope.

Tear-drenched pillows and moments of desperation have led me to know God deeper and given me a heart of compassion for those who are suffering.

If your life hasn't turned out the way you planned-- you're welcome here. I hope you find encouragement, inspiration, and a deeper sense of our Savior.

After a car accident in college, I was left with a traumatic brain injury that permanently damaged my vision. I still have some eyesight — but the world looks like a never-ending amusement ride.

Floors and walls seem to move in different directions. I often feel like I’m spinning. In new places, I need someone to guide me because I can’t stabilize myself. I bump into objects. Sometimes I fall.

I never expected to learn to paint from my sick bedside... but somehow I learned to compensate for my damaged vision and create art. I began sharing my art on social media, and the response surprised me. People started ordering prints.

I entered a piece into an art show, and it sold. Since then,  I've continued to enter my art into local art shows and paint when my health permits. I hope my journey inspires others to know that beauty can come out of tragedy.
