Today is my 29th Birthday

🎉

!! To be honest, I’ve shed a lot of tears this past month. My plan was by this age to be done with my doctorate in counseling psychology, travel the world, get married, have a few kids, and passionately share Jesus and His love with others.

After the car accident (8 years ago) brain injury, and neurological disease… my plans changed. Instead I faced disability, chronic illness, and eventually I stared death in the face.

I fought with every ounce of strength to live. And because I held onto my faith, and persevered, I am alive to see my 29th Birthday

🙂

.

I’m still disabled, still chronically ill. My body still lives with pain. My vision is permanently damaged.

Lots of my days are spent in bed. But I appreciate even more the ones that I’m able to get outside and see the beautiful world (like today)

🌞

. Even though I’ve faced all these hardships, the thing that has given me hope, strength, and purpose through it all, is my relationship with Jesus

❤️

.

He has gotten me over every mountain

. Gotten me through every treatment. He’s been there with me when I learned to walk again. When I stumbled He was there. When I cried He was there. When I laughed, He was there.

💙

I haven’t accomplished all the things I hoped I would by 29. But I have laughed, I have lived, I have loved. I have remained a faithful servant of Jesus

❤️

.

Jesus came down from Heaven to serve us… And I desire to humbly serve Him the rest of my life. That is my purpose. And I will joyfully do that

🙂

… because once you know who God is, what He’s REALLY like, it’s hard not to love Him. He’s just too amazing to turn my back on.

I pray today that God pours His hope into the lives of anyone reading this

❤️

. Xoxo. Thank you ALL for your love and support through these years

💙
