Devotion #5-God never changes God doesn’t change. I do. I’m up, I’m down, I’m all around. But God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Isaiah 54:10 “‘Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,’ says the LORD, who has compassion on you.” Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” Seasons change, governments change, what’s politically correct changes, natural disasters happen, people die, people reject us, we lose our job, we move to a new place, but what doesn’t change is our God. We can always take refuge in him no matter how shaky things are around us. No matter how scared we are at the changes happening in our lives, we can take peace knowing that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He won’t up and move on us. He won’t get tired of us and reject us. He won’t take back His blood He shed on the cross. He won’t have a life crisis and change who He is. He remains the same. That gives me so much peace and rest. We can lay our heads on our pillows at night and be at peace because our security is in God. No matter what natural or political disaster we could wake up to on the news tomorrow, He remains King of the universe, I remain His child, and my life remains found in Him. Psalm 18:2 “The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”
