Devotional #14- Different Seasons Embrace whatever season you are in. At some point it will be over and the next season will emerge. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to end, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.” If you are in a time of rejoicing enjoy it. If you are in a time of grieving go through it. If you are in a time of planting, work hard. And if you’re in a time of reaping sit back and be grateful for the fruit of your labor.

Life is the summarization of multiple seasons. When we look at life, part of what makes it so beautiful is all the different seasons we went through. They shaped us into what we are. They took our life on different roads. If we cling to the Lord every season can bring us closer to Him and His heart. Life is like the string of colored Christmas lights that hang on the tree. Each color, like each season, is beautiful on its own. When you are in the yellow colored season of your life you don’t need to be wishing you were in the red colored season of your life. When you are in the blue colored season of life you don’t need to wish you could go forward or backward. You need to embrace where you are. Each color has beauty of its own. Each color is individual and cannot be like the other colors. As each season cannot be like the other seasons. They all have beauty of their own. Paul in the Bible talked about learning to be content in every season, whether he had a lot, or had nothing. Because he had the Lord- he had everything. And so it is for us. No matter what season we are in we can embrace it and learn to be content because we have the most important thing to anchor our soul through every season, and that is Jesus Christ. Philippians 4 11-13 “I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
